BLES PTA with help from United Scrip brings you a wonderful gift card buying opportunity. Cards you would normally buy for your holiday giving now benefit your school too!!!
National retailers like Barnes & Noble, Disney, Toys R Us, Walmart, Target, Kohl's, Game Stop, Lowe's, Home Depot. Restaurants like Starbucks, Chili's, Outback, Olive Garden. Online retailers like Amazon, iTunes, Land's End, LLBean.

Start selling now as your deadline for return is Wednesday 11/30! Cards will be available for pick up only by Friday 12/16. (Exact pick up dates/instructions will be available on www.blespta.org.)

Georgia Natural Gas
The PTA will be coordinating and promoting Georgia Natural Gas’ True Blue Schools program starting this year. The past 2 years the donations have gone directly to the school. However, because we are interested in getting this “free” money Dr. McLeod has let the PTA absorb these donations.
If you are currently a GNG customer, please go to www.trueblueschools.com. Sign up, select Berkeley Lake Elementary School as your choice and starting in September (or month after you sign up) we will receive $5/month just because you are a customer in good standing!
If you are not a current customer, but like to “therm” price shop then you might check out the deal they have for you…up to $0.15/therm discount for switching and the PTA gets $5/month starting the month after you sign up.
We currently have 11 people enrolled…I would love to see this increase to 30, 50 and eventually 100 families. If we get 100 families signed up we get $6000/year and at no cost to our families other than your normal gas billJ That is an amazing amount of money for very little effort on our families’ parts. Please spread the word and I will be publicizing this at Curriculum Nights, so be on the lookout for the Blue Flame guy!

Scrip Bucks Order Form
One of the goals of the BLES PTA is to find ways to raise funds that have a minimal financial impact on our members. The BLES Scrip Bucks program accomplishes this. What is Scrip? Scrip is anything used in the place of money. In this case, we are talking about gift cards from local and national vendors. These cards are made available to you for purchase and you receive exactly what you pay for - if you pay $20 for a gift card, that is exactly what it's worth at that vendor.
How does BLES benefit? Through a partnership with United Scripand local vendors, the BLES PTA purchases these cards at a discount. These discounts range greatly from vendor to vendor - they could be anywhere from 1.5% to 20%. It is this discount that goes to support programs and classrooms at BLES. Imagine if every family used BLES Scrip Bucks for just some of their regular monthly purchases....a tank of gas, groceries, a meal out, new clothes, birthday gifts, home improvement supplies....we could generate thousands of dollars for our school without a penny of cost to our members!
Where do the funds go? If you so choose, you can direct 25% of all funds generated to your student's classroom. It will then be made available to the teacher to reimburse them for classroom expenses...new books, educational games, classroom supplies....whatever they need in YOUR child's class. The remainder of the funds generated go to the general PTA fund to support other school programs...Cultural Arts, Advanced Reader, Sunshine Math and all of the other programs the PTA helps to deliver. If you do not list your child's teacher on the order form, then 100% of the proceeds go to the general PTA fund.
OK, sounds great! How do I get started? Pickup a BLES Scrip Bucks order form in the front office or download one by clicking here. Fill out the form and return it to school with your child in an envelope marked "Scrip Bucks" or drop it off in the front office. Advance payment is required (check included made payable to "BLES PTA"). Your order will be available for pickup in the front office any time after the date listed below. If you do not pay in advance, then your order will not be processed - we have to deposit the funds in the bank the day before our order is placed. THE FRONT OFFICE WILL NOT PROCESS PAYMENTS FOR ORDERS! Orders will also be available for pickup at selected school events. For a more detailed flyer on this program, click here.
